ARITA
AMATA is a porcelain jewelry brand that offers all-handmade jewelry delivered from Japan. To create its porcelain pieces, AMATA uses a renowxned traditional technique called “Arita-Yaki”, which originates from Arita, Saga prefecture. Arita was the first place in Japan to create porcelain during the 17th century, and since then, they have continued to be renowned as having high quality porcelain products. “Arita-Yaki” pieces are loved globally for its beauty, elegance, and luxurious look; so much so that it has a history of being gifted to Japanese emperors.
Traditionally, “Arita-Yaki” pieces are produced through specialized, professional artisans with the utmost prestige and precision that is dedicated in every step of the process. They carefully pick the most optimal clay per piece depending on how much iron is contained in each porcelain clay. As porcelain is baked at a higher temperature than a typical pottery piece, porcelain pieces tend to be much stronger and durable. Porcelain becomes hard, smooth, and white when baked, which is a signature feature of porcelain, and it allows delicate pieces to be drawn onto its surface. During the coloring process, a glass-like glazed called “Yuyaku” is used to add personality to each piece. This is a crucial step to creating unique and distinctive “Arita-Yaki” works.
“Arita-Yaki” is often used for products such as tableware, tea cups, or vase, and often light up rooms with its beautiful colors. “Arita-Yaki” is a tradition and technique that continues its long-running history by evolving and molding with the times, helping it to be loved by more and more people.
AMATA

In the process of passing down its history and tradition, our team’s focus is to create Arita porcelain pieces that can be worn and loved casually as something to be enjoyed daily. This love and passion helps us transform tradition, culture, and craftsmanship into a beautiful piece of jewelry.
At AMATA, we specialize in crafting small jewelry pieces by selecting the most optimal clay and colors to brighten one’s day. We use more than 40 different colors, which include various vibrant colors that are rare for Arita porcelain pieces. The combination of clay and color help each piece turn out unique and individual, offering us a pleasant surprise every time we open the oven. At times it reflects the season, or mirrors our emotions at the moment, but sometimes, it can display something completely out of our imagination. This helps us stay innovative at all times. Although appreciating tradition has immense meaning to us, we also believe that adding new styles of “Arita-Yaki” to introduce the technique and pieces to younger generations is just as meaningful and crucial to the future of “Arita-Yaki”. No piece is ever the same at AMATA. We take pride in crafting jewelry that is unique and exclusive; we hope that you can find one that resonates with you that you can shower with love and hold it dearly as your lucky charm.
